This month I have an extra focus on healing. I know what you are thinking: Kay, that is the entire focus of your job, what are you talking about?! And you are right of course, you clever little bunny, but my attention is being drawn at the moment into the extra layers. What healing do we need during times like these – times of transition that call us to be embodied, not dissociated? What healing do we need when we are being bombarded with information, with socials, with (important but distressing) war and politics, and with a constant stream within our “industry” of healing and spirituality of inauthentic, AI generated content (please throw chatgtp in the bin). What healing practices can bring us back to ourselves as the world keeps tempting us away from our centre and our embodied experience of life and work on the healing path?
Just as importantly for those in my own community, my thoughts are on how our own spiritual practices might need to change so that the people we have become over the last few years are better supported. Are there ways that your routine and even your very understanding of what healing is need to evolve? These things don’t remain static. And as the work and path changes for our clients and our students, what healing do we need to make sure we can do healing work for others?
This is where my mind is at. I haven’t formulated any simple, blog-friendly answers; I’m more just sharing my thinking with you. And asking your opinion – how is your healing practice going these days? Is it harder to focus, to stay disciplined? What has helped you stay centred during these transitional times, so far? I’m sitting with these questions and would love to know your own questions and your answers.
This month on my Patreon, the theme of our work is Healing – and by that I mean delving into some of the tricky truths and questions about healing, the need for self awareness and evolution on the healing path. (Yeah, I know, the hard stuff – but we do also have fun along the way). It’s a month blessed with 2 full moons, the first is on Beltane 01 May, and the full moon journey this month is to call in the healing guidance we need for this month. I just finished the Healing Path reading for May and it speaks to a completion of a cycle of personal healing and a calling, by the next new moon, to say yes to a new beginning. Our live session on 10 May will be all about the healing needed to honour that completion, with a follow up healing lesson after the new moon. Sound like where you’re at? Join the community this month and get deep healing support.

My dear friend Leanne Cruz and I are also deep in the preparation of our Summer Solstice online retreat (15-24 June) – “Restoring Healers to Power” – which we are designing specifically to support healers and teachers. These questions are driving us to hold that container in new and more powerful ways. You can find out more and sign up here.
In the meantime, two things. First: I really would love to hear your thoughts on this. How is the healing path changing for you now? What needs to change, what support is missing?
Second: As you think on all this (and I am sure you already are thinking on this), make sure you get the healing you need. I do have some one-to-one availability still in May and June – have a look here. If you’re in Glastonbury, come and see me for the Reiki & Reiki Drum Share on Thursday 21 May at 7pm. And below is a free workshop from the Reiki Skills Lodge to help Reiki people of all levels call in and receive the healing they need. I hope it helps to smooth the road for you.
