Community healings for Reiki people

Reiki shares are an opportunity for Reiki people to come together and receive healings. Even if you are not working professionally with your Reiki practice, healers like us have a tendency to primarily be in service to others. We hold space for people, and, whether energetically or emotionally, we mediate for them and take care of them. It is a natural part of life for natural healers. Sometimes this means that self care can be deprioritised, and that we are unaccustomed to letting people give healing to us.

At a Reiki share we can all drop into the practice and remember that the energy for this space holding and support is provided by source, not our own energy. It is a reminder to hold ourselves in such a way that the act of healing service can and should be energising, not depleting! It is also a safe space to ask for a bit of what we need for ourselves.

How do Reiki shares work?

All Reiki shares are different – and as Reiki & Reiki Drum shares, mine my be a little more different! My shares are only open to people who have been attuned to the Reiki source and are suitable to Reiki 1 and above. I accept people from any Reiki lineage; you do not need to be one of my students. They are wonderful community events to get some experience of hands on healing work.

I bring the drumming aspect into the work, as it is such an essential part of my own practice. Anyone who has a drum and uses it as part of their healing work – even if they have not been trained as Reiki drummers and have kept their Reiki and medicine drumming work separate in the past – is welcome to bring their drum along.

I work with the ShuChu Reiki method, where we take it in turns to lie on the treatment table and receive an intensive treatment from the whole group. When receiving a treatment, each person may state a healing intention for the group to hold for the highest good – an opportunity to voice your current needs on the path. The group will work intuitively with either hands on or hovering away from the body, according to your wish. Any Reiki drummers present will add to the healing with some medicine drumming, but only with your permission – the drumming is entirely optional. The treatments are short, but 8 people working on you for 5 minutes is the equivalent of a 40 minute treatment from a single practitioner! In this short time you can find freedom from a block, empowerment for a life transformation, or a deep soothing for your heart.

At the end of the session, time permitting, I offer a Reiki healing song (drum and voice) for everyone to lie back and receive.

There is no need to book, and attendance is by donation (suggested donation £10).

Upcoming Reiki shares and location

Reiki shares are normally held on the third Thursday of the month. The November share will be the last one held at White Rabbit Glastonbury until the spring, as the venue is dropping down to their off-season hours.

Over the winter the shares will be held at my home; because of this I won’t be able to accept walk-in bookings from people I don’t know. If you’ve not trained with me or been to one of my shares or workshops before and would like to come, get in touch. If you’d prefer to wait for a share at a public venue, I expect to be back there in March. Why not join a Reiki Skills Lodge in the meantime so we can make friends?
