Reiki 2 – Okuden

The Reiki practitioner level course with a difference

Reiki 2 (or: Okuden) is the practitioner level Reiki course designed to bring you up to a level where you can work with skill and confidence on other people, as well providing the knowledge to work with specific Reiki energies for your own self-healing and development as a practitioner of the healing arts.

Promoting Reiki excellence

The idea that people are “attuned to the symbols” at Reiki 2 is a misnomer. Students are connected to the whole Reiki source at level 1; at Reiki 2 we build the skills to draw through particular Reiki energies by using the symbols as a focal point. My own focus with the symbols is to meditate with them to build a deep connection with them in their own bodies and energy field.

As with the Reiki 1: Shoden course, the training begins with pre-course study with our comprehensive manuals and audio tracks. I recommend you set aside at least 6 hours to prepare for the course, and then the in-person training day is very practical. We go beyond the symbols and learn other ways to strengthen and focus our abilities to channel the Reiki energy for more powerful healing results. We learn how to flow energy through our hands in different ways, through visualisation exercises and using our breath and our eyes. We practice together how to go beyond scanning the energy field and build our intuition, letting our own body tell us where to work on our client’s body. We also work with distant healing methods.

Numbers are strictly limited in this group to ensure close attention and the highest possible quality of training.

Course schedule

Morning session: symbols and distance healing

  • Overview – a brief discussion of your Reiki journey so far
  • Second degree reiju empowerment – the first of three for the day
  • Diving into the intuitive Japanese approaches championed by Usui
  • Experiencing “earth ki”, and discussions on how to use the first Reiki symbol
  • Second degree reiju empowerment – the second connection for the day
  • Experiencing “heavenly ki”, and discussions on how to use the second Reiki symbol
  • Practical sessions using the two energies on each other
  • Second degree reiju empowerment – the third and final empowerment of the day
  • Discussion of oneness and the third Reiki symbol as a bridge into it
  • Practical distance healing sessions

Break for lunch

Afternoon session: the really cool stuff!

  • Working with intentions, and myth-busting around ideas of hands on healing
  • Practical sessions to work with new ways to direct energy – working through the breath, the eyes, different hand positions and the “many hands” technique
  • Building intuition through the Japanese technique of Reiji-ho
  • Long practice sessions with partners to play with all the powerful techniques we’ve learned

Please note: My in-person trainings are offered throughout the year in a private venue in Glastonbury, Somerset. Courses are kept to a maximum of 4 students to ensure in-depth personal experiences and a high standard of training. On some occasions where the scheduled classes are full or don’t work for you, particularly for pairs or small groups, I can arrange private classes during the week at no extra cost. For all classes a commitment to attendance and to completing the pre-course study is required, please note my terms and conditions before booking.
