This past weekend (3rd November) was the 20th anniversary of my Reiki 1 course. Happy birthday to me, I am 20! As it were 🙂

I wasn’t sure of the exact date, but as I was preparing for a private Reiki 1 course for Tuesday (for a couple who wanted to do their attunements together – what a lovely thing to have in your relationship!) it occurred to me that I might be doing a Reiki 1 course on the anniversary of my own Reiki 1. Only on looking it up did I realise it was the 3rd November – and I’d missed it by a day. And then, after a flurry of chat on the Reiki Evolution support group with other long-standing Reiki nerds, I got back to prepping for my new students, same as always. The course was the same as it always is in so many ways – and yet, as always, it was completely unique.

How many people have I trained in the last couple of decades? At Reiki 1, at Reiki 2, at Reiki Master, in shamanic approaches to Reiki and additional development workshops? Hundreds by now, surely. How many Reiki treatments, how many Reiju empowerments? Thousands?! Dudes. I am not just a Reiki nerd. I am an old Reiki nerd!!

The Reiki Skills Lodge

I have so many stories and experiences to share, and have experienced with so many meditations and healing techniques. It’s more than can be shared in standard teaching workshops, and I’ve started to become concerned I might forget what I’ve found out along the way! I also think one of the great ways we can learn more is to share these things with our community of Reiki people, who in turn share their stories and experiences with us. This way, we can all keep learning together – and for me, educating ourselves and pursuing excellence in Reiki is one of my highest goals.

This is why I started the Reiki Skills Lodge in 2024. A chance for me to geek out on a few pet subjects, learning and sharing along the way. These are the subjects we’ve covered so far this year:

• March 2024 – Distance Reiju & self empowerment techniques (Reiki Masters only)
• May 2024 – Tanden connection and definition for Reiki people (All Reiki levels)
• June 2024 – Cho Ku Rei – an exploration of the first Reiki symbol (Reiki 2 and above only)
• July 2024 – Sei He Ki – an exploration of the second Reiki symbol (Reiki 2 and above only)
• September 2024 – Distance healing without symbols (All Reiki levels)
• October 2024 – Hon She Ze Ho Nen – an exploration of the third Reiki symbol (Reiki 2 and above only)

Coming up this Monday, 11 November, is a Reiki Metta Meditation workshop (all Reiki levels) and we finish out the year on 02 December with an exploration of DaiKoMyo for the Reiki Masters among you.
