Using the voice for healing and seidr – an interview

Last week I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Katie Gerrard – hypnotherapist, Seidr expert and author of “Seidr: the gate is open” – about my healing voice work.

Katie and I had a talk recently about Seidr, the Old Norse shamanic rites of seership, and my preference to use voice instead of drums for those rites (check out Katie’s book if you are interested in learning more about Seidr). Our conversation led to an invite to do an interview and before we knew it we were chatting away for almost an hour about voice work for healing, seership and magic!

I did some live singing on the call but, alas, I had not yet learned the mystical ways of recording live drumming and singing on zoom so that exact song has been lost to the ether. However, Laura Daligan and I guested on one of Katie’s Seidr classes later that day and recorded a demo of the singing I began on the call, so that has been included in this interview. (Laura and I host the Healing Song Circles every sabbat in Glastonbury – follow us on Facebook to keep up with our events, the next one is 21 Dec!)

I had a wonderful time chatting with Katie, and we hope to have some fun collaborations to share with you in the future! I hope you enjoy the interview, and remember to visit Katie’s website to learn more about her work with Seidr, Ancestral healing or hypnotherapy: www.heidmind.com
